Founded in 2008, Breckenridge Distillery is best known for its blended Bourbon whiskey, an American-style whiskey with a high rye mash content. The distillery itself is one of the highest distilleries in the world, located 9600 feet (2926 metres) above sea level. The water for the whiskey was obtained from the melting snow of the Rocky Mountains. This creation is aged in charred American oak casks and received a finish in a 223 litre Tawny Port cask from Portugal. This makes the flavour profile mild and pleasantly sweet with a spicy finish.
