Product description
This Glenfiddich is produced using the solera process, which the Spanish also use to marry their sherry bottlings. Here, whiskies from different cask maturations (Oloroso sherry, bourbon, new oak casks) were married in a unique solera cask made from Oregon pine wood. It is therefore not a pure sherry cask whisky, as it was not matured using the solera method, but only married for a short time.

Aroma: Reiche Fruchtigkeit mit deutlichen Sherry-Noten, ergänzt durch Aromen von Vanille, Honig und Gewürzen.

Geschmack: Komplex, mit Geschmäckern von getrockneten Früchten, Gewürzen, Schokolade, malzige Süße.

Abgang: Mittel-lang, warm und süß mit anhaltenden würzigen Noten.

Kommentar: Schöne Balance und Komplexität. Ideal für Liebhaber von mittelschweren, fruchtig-würzigen Whiskys. Empfehlenswert als Digestif.

Aroma: wunderbare Süße, Honig und Vanille, voll und facettenreich
Geschmack: ölig, dichte Süße und schnell angenehme Würze, Klasse
Abgang: mittellang, eiche kommt, trockener werdend

Wenn man dem Zeit gibt, bis die stechenden Dämpfe verflogen sind, dann entwickelt der ein schönes Aroma.
Das Holz im Vordergrund, vom Sherry nichts zu spüren, etwas Vanille, fast wie Vanillepudding, macht der ganz schön Appetit.
Geschmacklich recht pelzig, deutlich Lakritze, etwas Schokolade, Trauben/Nuss, später kommen herbe Kräuter hinzu.
Kein schlechter Tropfen…

Kommentar: Ein interessanter Single Malt. Ganz viel Frucht im Aroma, sogar Kiwi habe ich dabei, dazu Vanille. Von der Frucht bleibt im Gesschmack nicht so viel übrig. Dafür kommen jetzt Nüsse (Oloroso-Sherry?), Gewürze und weitere Karamell-Süße. Die Eiche kommt im Abgang durch und harmoniert nicht ganz so mit der Süße. Ein Single Malt der mich am meisten beim Aroma überzeugt. Insgesamt bekommt man für einen 15jährigen wohl kaum ein besseres PLV, ***1/2.
