Product description
Macallan Double Cask matured entirely in sherry casks. American oak casks were filled with sherry especially for Macallan and then used for the whisky maturation. In addition to the American oak casks, classic sherry casks made from European oak were also used.
For a long time, Double Cask was only available in Asia. In the meantime, the whisky has been included in Macallan's regular range.

Aroma: Süßer Sherry, Bourbon Vanille, Weingummi, Zitrusfrüchte, Litschi, Eiche, geröstetes Malz

Geschmack: Malzsüße, weicher Sherry, feine und vielschichtige Holzaromen, rosa Pfeffer

Abgang: Kurz, Fruchtschale, Eiche, Zartbitterschokolade

Kommentar: Gefällt mir grundsätzlich gut, über den Macallan Preis kann man sicherlich diskutieren aber die Aromen sind sauber und klar. Die Eiche ist vielschichtig und nicht einfach nur herb und würzig. Der Sherry ergänzt sich hierzu und ist weder zu dünn noch wirkt er überlagernd oder aufgesetzt. Modern ja, aber auf eine feine Art wie ich finde
