Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Aroma: leicht speckiger Rauch, Schinken, schwaches Lagerfeuer, warme würzige Süße, Holz
Geschmack: süß und milder Rauch, mundfüllend, kräftig und intensiv, sehr ausgeglichen
Abgang: Lakritz, leicht bitter und rauchig, Eiche
Kommentar: ein sehr ausgeglichener Spitzenmalt von Laphroaig, etwas anderer Laphi, der sich von den Standards unterscheidet, glatte 5 Sterne, teuer

Kommentar: Schlussbewertung. Es bleibt bei 5 Sternen. Nicht nur weil mir Laphroaig bestens gefällt, sondern weil er wirklich gut ist.

Kommentar: Bestätigende bzw. ergänzende Bewertung zur korrekten Abbildung meines persönlichen Eindrucks. Ein ausgezeichneter Laphroaig. Zwar eher auf der milden Seite, mit nur verhaltenem Rauch, aber großartig hintergründig fruchtig, rund und besonders. Irgendwie passt er jetzt schon in meine "all time favourites".
