Product description
Laphroaig Elements 1.0 is the first bottling of a new series in which the distillery shows its experimental and unexpected side. For the first in the series, Laphroaig's Master Blender experimented with the fermentation process to give the typical characteristics of the malt more depth and detail, but also fruity, soft and sweet nuances. Elements is made in mash tuns of two sizes and with two types of word, cloudy and semi-turbid. The strong Single Malt was bottled without chill filtration and at cask strength.

The Distillery: Laphroaig
Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Laphroaig Whiskies are considered the most smoky-intense malt Whiskies from Scotland.

ent: The palate is bold and peaty, with pronounced flavors of maritime smoke, iodine, and seaweed, balanced by hints of vanilla and citrus zest. It boasts a robust and oily texture with a touch of medicinal sweetness. The finish is long and smoky, leaving a lingering impression of bonfire smoke and briny sea air.
Overall, Laphroaig Elements 1.0 is a classic expression of Islay whisky, perfect for those who enjoy intense peat and maritime flavors. It is an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking a smoky and characterful dram that captures the essence of the Laphroaig distillery style.

Kommentar: Sehr sehr guter Laphi! Im Vergleich mit dem CS10-Batch16 viel ausgewogener, komplexer. Alkohol kaum spürbar. Mit Zeit (viel Zeit & Luft lassen!) entwickelt sich zunächst eine schwere, nussige Vanille-Süße, dann Karamel-Schoki und alles mit kaltem, trockenem Rauch verwoben. Cremige Textur, schöner langer Abgang, Wahnsinns-Teil! Leider zu teuer.

Kommentar: Sehr guter Single Malt. Etwas für Kenner. Für Einsteiger wahrscheinlich nicht zu empfehlen.

Aroma: Trockener Lagerfeuerrauch, Torfrauch, leichte Süße, schlanke Malzbasis
Geschmack: Rauch, Lagerfeuer, Torfrauch, Gewürze, leichter Seetang, etwas Süß, Bourbonbarrel-Noten, Vanille
Abgang: Lang mit Rauch und leichter Süße
Kommentar: Spannende Laphroaig Version, vor allem im Vergleich zu anderen Abfüllungen deutlich anders, eher trockener Rauch.
