Aroma Sweet with vanilla and toffee plus gentle hints of gooseberry, cooked apple and a hint of cinnamon. Notes of freshly baked apple pie follow.
Taste Oily, sweet and full-bodied with fruity facets of oranges and nectarines, followed by herbal notes of freshly cut mint, heather honey, a subtle ginger spiciness and peaty notes.
Finish Sweet and rich with a long, spicy and smoky finish.

Product description
This Laphroaig whisky combines the characteristic, intense peat smoke of Laphroaig with a high age of 18 years. The longer maturation in ex-bourbon casks gives the Single Malt significantly more vanilla and a subtle fruity complexity in addition to oak notes. Not chill-filtered and therefore bottled at 48% vol.

Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful.     Kommentar: Mein Vergleich ist der 10jährige in Fassstärke. Hier passt der Vergleich sehr gut zwischen jung und alt ????. Peat Smoke vorhanden aber stärker eingebunden, zudem kommt die Eiche/Vanille stärke zum Tragen. Spritzigkeit finden man durch Minze/Menthol im Abgang. Ein wunderbarer Tropfen.
