Aroma: Typischer speckiger, nach Räucherschinken duftender Lagavulin-Rauch, dann aber auch noch hellere Aromen als beim 16-jährigen Klassiker, nämlich süsse Zitrusfruchtnoten, und ein Hauch von Meeresbrise.

Geschmack: Auch im Mund schlägt der Rauch ordentlich zu, aschiger Rauch, mit maritimen Anklängen, und dann wird er für einen kurzen, aber intensiven, Moment sehr vanillig süss; danach stempelt ihm das Holz eine ordentliche Würze auf.

Abgang: Im Abgang bleibt dann ziemlich lange eine eindrückliche Pfeffrigkeit zurück.

Kommentar: Ganz toller Lagavulin; behält den Lagavulin-Charakter und ist trotzdem etwas anders als gewohnt.
