Product description
Lagavulin's classic is kilned with a high smoke content in the malt. The stills of the distillery are pear-shaped so that all flavours can be passed on to the condensers during distillation. The Single Malt is then matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks until perfection.

The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery Lagavulin is located on the south side of the island of Islay, between the Laphroaig and Ardbeg distilleries. Lagavulin, pronounced Lagga-voulin, comes from Gaelic and roughly means “hollow by the mill”. Founded in 1816 by John Johnston, the Lagavulin distillery is owned by the Diageo group and its whiskies are part of its Classic Malts Selection. read more

    Kommentar: Soll ja schwächer sein als früher. Ist für mich aber immer noch ziemlich vollmundig, schwer, erdig-rauchig und maritim. Alkohol super eingebunden. Einer meiner Islay-Lieblinge. Als B-Ware auch ganz gutes PLV.

    Sofort präsent: satter Rauch, dazu salzige Küstenluft und eine dunkle, süße Tiefe im Hintergrund. Sehr markant und stimmig. Peat Smoke Maritime Notes Sweet
    Geschmack:
    Trocken-rauchig auf dem Gaumen, dann kommt eine kräftige Süße als Gegengewicht. Salzige Meeresnoten und eine weiche Holzspur geben Struktur, ohne scharf zu werden. Peat Smoke Maritime Notes Oak
    Abgang:
    Sehr lang, rauchig und salzig ausklingend, mit „Seetang“-Anmutung und einem leicht herben, trockenen Finish – elegant statt ruppig. Peat Smoke Maritime Notes Herb

    Ein Islay-Klassiker mit Charakter: dichter Torfrauch, maritime Salzigkeit und eine dunkle, süße Tiefe. Kraftvoll, aber erstaunlich ausgewogen und „erwachsen“.
