Product description
The Kilchoman French Inspiration was originally created for the French market. For the maturation of the second small batch bottling, Bourbon casks and Sauternes wine casks were used for the most part, as well as a small part of Oloroso sherry casks. The Single Malt Whisky was then bottled without chill-filtering and without the addition of colour at 49.1% vol. Cask strength. The creation represents Kilchoman's love of experimentation, in which the Islay distillery combines rare casks from its own stock to create exclusive bottlings for the whisky countries of the world.

The Distillery: Kilchoman
After more than 125 years, the Kilchoman farm distillery is the first new distillery to be built on the island of Islay. At the distillery, which was founded in 2005 and produces a 100 per cent Islay Single Malt, all production steps are carried out on site, from the cultivation of the barley to the filling of the bottles.

Aroma: Anklänge von Aprikosen und Honig verbinden sich mit Noten von weißen Trauben und sanften Akzenten von Torfrauch.

Kommentar: Schöne Abfüllung. Nase dürfte etwas mehr bieten. Insgesamt hätte der Abfüllung, für meinen Geschmack, vermutlich etwas mehr Sauternesfassreifung und dafür etwas weniger Bourbonfassreifung gut getan.
