Jameson Black Barrel was matured in three different types of barrels. In addition to American and European oak barrels, double burnt bourbon barrels were also used. This makes the Black Edition of Grain and Pot Still Whiskey even more complex and deeper in Taste.

Aroma: Dieser Whisky lebt von einer fantastischen Caramel-Süsse, die so intensiv ist, dass fast nichts anderes mehr durchzudringen vermag; dann kommen Anklänge von Rauch, aber das ist kein wirklicher Rauch, sondern der Charakter des stark ausgebrannten Fasses; diese beiden Aromen (Caramel und "Rauch") zusammen, verweben sich zu einem Espresso-Aroma.

Geschmack: Im ersten Schluck kommt er überraschend vanillig-süss daher, was man nicht gedacht hätte, nachdem die Nase auf einer Kaffeenote ausklang; später kommt der Kaffee aber wieder und dann kommt auch eine ordentliche Eichenfracht.

Abgang: Die sich immer stärker aufbauende Eiche bleibt und geht ewigs nicht weg.

Kommentar: Spannender, aussergewöhnlicher Whisky.
