Product description

Glenmorangie A Tale of Winter was developed by Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden when he was snowed in at home one winter. The 13-year-old Single Malt was first matured in bourbon casks and then given a second maturation in Marsala wine casks from Sicily. For this limited edition, the bottle and packaging design are inspired by traditional British Christmas jumpers.

The Distillery: Glenmorangie

The stretch of land in the Northern Highland on which Glenmorangie stands has been the site for alcohol production (mostly illicit) since the Middle Ages, setting a formidable legacy. Glenmorangie was founded in 1843, although operation didn’t start until 1849. read more

Aroma: Fruchtig mit Orangen und Toffeesüße, kandierte Früchte und eine Kräuternote.

Geschmack: kurzer aber kräftiger Antritt mit Würze. Dann Süße, fruchtige und säuerliche Noten.

Abgang: Würziger Abgang mit Eiche, Bitterschokolade und Süße... leichte Bitterkeit hält lange an.

Kommentar: Durchaus ein sehr gelungener Whisky. Für einen Glenmorangie recht würzig finde ich. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt aber meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz.

Fazit: Toller Whisky aber recht teuer. Nachkaufen würde ich ihn aber nicht.
