Cutty Sark Prohibition is a Small Batch Blend. It was released more than 80 years after the end of alcohol prohibition in the USA. It was composed of Malt and Grain whiskies and bottled with a higher, non-blended alcohol content. The bottler of the Blend has been La Martiniquaise since 2018. France's second-largest spirits group also owns the Glen Moray distillery and Starlaw distillery, for example.

Geschmack: Leichte Würze, Alkohol überlagert Geschmack meines Erachtens, flach
Abgang: erstaunlich würzig, frische Eiche, keine Bitterkeit

Für den Preis ok, für mich im Geschmack zu hohe alkoholische Schärfe. Würzigkeit im Abgang und angenehmes Eichenaroma jedoch sehr gut.

Kommentar: Sicher nicht jedermanns Ding: der Cutty Sark zeigt für einen Blended Malt erstaunlich viele Ecken und Kanten – sowie Komplexität. Das lässt einen in Anbetracht des Preises durchaus erstaunen. Wer mal etwas Anderes probieren möchte, bei dem eine würzige Süße im Vordergrund steht, kann bei diesem Preis das Experiment gerne wagen. Ich bestelle bestimmt mal nach.
