Product description
This Bunnahabhain single malt special edition was created exclusively for the 'Fèis Ìle 2024' whisky festival. The characterful whisky matured for 23 years in three different sherry casks. The Amontillado sherry casks were filled on 4 November 2009, Oloroso sherry casks on 20 June 2011 and finally Manzanilla casks were added, which were filled on 12 September 2016. Master blender Julieann Fernandez blended the casks with the utmost precision and bottled the final result at 53.3% natural cask strength. The distillation process, in which only lightly peated and malted barley is blended, and the remote location, with very pure spring water from the Margadale spring, set this whisky apart from the 8 other distilleries on the island in terms of flavour. The Fèis Ìle Festival takes place annually at the end of May on the island of Islay, where numerous creations from the smoky single malt world are presented, bands and musicians perform and a dram or two is savoured.
