This Balvenie Single Barrel bottling emphasises the influence of the cask on the Taste of a whisky. Oak casks are natural products and each one is different. As a result, each whisky has a different Taste. For this bottling, Balvenies Malt Master selected only casks with sweet vanilla and oak character. All bottles are marked with the cask number and the bottle number.

The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery The Balvenie is located on the slopes of the Convals, below the Glenfiddich distillery. It was built in 1892 by William J. Grant, who is also the founder of the sister distillery Glenfiddich.

Aroma: Intensiv & voll. Süß, süß und nochmal süß. Zuckerwatte par excellence, Karamellbonbon, etwas honig, ein wenig Zitrus, Gewürze und die so typische Balvenie Orange. Macht lust auf mehr.
Geschmack: Schöner Antritt, Puderzucker, Vanille verbindet sich mit der saftigen Orange. Hinten raus kommen Gewürze, in Richtung Zimt und Nelkenpfeffer. Sehr cremiges Mundgefühl, adstringierend.
Nachklang: Lang, wärmend. Eiche setzt einen tollen Kontrapunkt mit Vollmilchschokolade. Süffiger Gesamteindruck.
Kommentar: Ich könnte jetzt eine ellenlange Lobeshymne auf diesen Whisky schreiben. Dieser Single Malt hat vor zwei Jahren mein Herz erobert, weil er so klassisch Oldschool und einfach ist. Keine uralten Sherryfässer oder sonst was. Einfach klassische Ex-Bourbon Fässer, erstbefüllt, keine Kühlfiltration, keine Färbung und 47,8% Vol.. Er hat sich mit vielen ähnlichen messen müssen, keiner konnte ihn schlagen. Mein Lieblingswhisky, daher klare Kaufempfehlung.
