Product description
The Balvenie Madeira Cask Finish emphasises the influence of the cask on the whisky's taste. Oak casks are natural products and each one is different. As a result, each whisky has a different Taste. For this bottling, Balvenies Malt Master chose American oak casks for the initial maturation and casks previously filled with sweet Madeira wine for the final maturation. In times gone by, full Madeira wine casks were shipped all over the world. The sunlight and weather conditions naturally sweetened the wine in the casks. The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart studied the island of Madeira and the casks from the region intensively, which ultimately inspired him to experiment with this type of cask for maturation.

The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery The Balvenie is located on the slopes of the Convals, below the Glenfiddich distillery. It was built in 1892 by William J. Grant, who is also the founder of the sister distillery Glenfiddich.

Aroma: Schwarzer Johannisbeere und Brombeere trifft auf Facetten von Ingwersüße und milden Gewürznoten.
Geschmack: Fruchtige Noten von reifen Pfirsichen, frischen Orangen und Akzenten von Haselnuss- und Eichenaromen.

Kommentar: In der Nase sehr fruchtig, am Gaumen sehr nussig und im Abgang röstig süß. Das Madeira Fass merkt man deutlich. Ist mal was anders. PLV ist natürlich fraglich, aber trotzdem ein toller Whisky.
