Product description
This heavily smoky edition from the Edradour distillery was created by Andrew Symington and his team from malt with at least 50 ppm of smoke. This 20-year-old Ballechin matured in a series of Old Grand Dad First Fill Bourbon barrels from the Jim Beam Distillery. Bottled at 52.8% vol. at cask strength, neither chill-filtered nor coloured, the single malt presents itself with smoke, spice and sweetness. The yellow outer packaging is a real eye-catcher.

Abgang:
Kommentar: Ein sehr komplexer Ballechin. Die Nase ist wundervoll. Genau das was ich erhofft hatte. Süße und das Alter treffen auf sehr angenehmen Rauch. Im Mund wird er dann allerdings etwas fordernd. Die Süße ist schön da, auch der Rauch ist da, aber da ist auch viel Holz und eine Dunkelschokolade die im ersten Verkosten nicht so ganz passen mag. Nicht wirklich bitter eher so eine Mischung aus Bitterkeit und Würze.
Das ist nicht wirklich schlimm, verlangt aber definitiv Aufmerksamkeit und hebt ihn raus aus der Easy Drinking Fraktion.
4 Sterne sind es aber allemal und ich denke das da noch was geht wenn er mehr Luft in der Flasche hat. Wasser tut ihm gut, aber sehr wenig. Die Grenze zum Verwässern ist schmal..
