This Glenburgie belongs to the distillery labels of Gordon & MacPhail. The independent bottler has probably the largest cask stock. Decades ago, the Urquhart family already cultivated the important contacts with the distilleries, and the range is now correspondingly broad. In the meantime, their malts from the 'Distillery Labels' series are often considered original bottlings, as many of the distilleries included do not bottle themselves.

Aroma: Schokolade, Glenburgie-Hausstil: fast Soja-artige Kräuternote (etwas Deftiges aus der ostasiatischen Küche) über Süße, dunkle Himbeeren; mehr Beeren und Früchte mit der Zeit; Kuchen

Geschmack: Eiche, Kräuter, Schoko über dunklen Blau- und Himbeeren

Abgang: Vanille, Nuss, Karamell, Kräuter, Sherry, Würze; Glenburgie-Kräuter verbleiben; Marzipan

Kommentar: In der Nase anfangs eine zarte Rauchnote und Trockenfrüchte, die dann einem deutlichen Haselnussaroma weichen. Auf der Zunge zunächst süß mit Apfel- und Birnennoten, später auch Beeren, dann zunehmend würzig. Der Abgang ist lang und würzig mit einer leicht bitteren Note.
