Starward Solera is an Australian Single Malt aged in Apera red wine casks from a small Australian winery. Australian Apera is a strong wine similar to Spanish Sherry. In the warehouses in Melbourne, the whisky is exposed to strong climatic fluctuations. It is not for nothing that the city is said to go through four seasons within one day: here, arctic breezes from the south meet desert winds from the north, a climate that allows the whisky to mature very quickly and well.

The Australian Starward distillery, based in Melbourne, has been producing Whisky since 2015. The founder, David Vitale, has Italian ancestors, but was raised in Melbourne. He cares a lot about his roots, which is why Starward Whisky matures exclusively in red wine casks.

Kommentar: So ein schöner Whisky. Sonnig, rund und warm, lässt in der Preisklasse nichts vermissen. Wie bei Starward üblich ist der Abgang weniger differenziert und die Fruchtfrische klingt lange nach.
