Product description
The fermentation for the Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaican Rum is carried out by regional wild yeasts, which contribute significantly to the Taste of the rum. The rum is distilled at the Hampden Estate Distillery in Jamaica, which is known for its aromatic distillates. Only Pot Still distillates are used. The intense rum is blended from almost equal parts of Wedderburn rums matured for at least half a year and Plummer rums matured for between 18 months and 3 years.

Für den Preis ist dieser Rum wirklich gut. Geschmacklich erinnert er an das typische Rumbackaroma, das viele kennen – und das ist keineswegs negativ gemeint. Wer einen intensiven und charakterstarken Rum sucht, wird hier fündig. Die Geschmacksnoten von Süße und Nüssen kommen gut zur Geltung, und er eignet sich sowohl zum puren Genuss als auch für Cocktails.

Kommentar: Man schmeckt auf jeden Fall die Herkunft des Destillats aus der Hampden Destille. Typischer Jamaika Funk, Ester-Noten, vergorene Früchte (primär Banane). Für seine Prozente, außerordentlich gut put trinkbar, aber muss man mögen. Perfekt um rum-cocktails einen interessanten Kick zu geben. Aus meiner Hausbar nicht mehr wegzudenken.
