After 2.5 years of ageing in new American white oak casks, this Slyrs Single Malt is matured for a further 4 years in original Amontillado casks. For the finish, casks up to 50 years old are sourced from the famous Bodegas Tradición in Jerez, Spain.

Located at the Schliersee lake, Slyrs Distillery ranks among the best-known whisky distilleries in Germany. Its name is derived from the old name of the region. The first Whisky was already distilled on the stills of the traditional Lantenhammer distillery in 1999, but in 2007 Slyrs Whisky found its home in the newly erected Slyrs Distillery in Neuhaus. read more

Kommentar: Ich liebe bereits den 3- und 12-jährigen Slyrs und dieser hier mit dem Amontillado-Finish ist aus meiner Sicht ein echter Geheimtipp. Günstig und äußerst gefällig darf er im meinem Whiskeyportfolio nicht fehlen.

Aroma: am "schottischsten" (im Vergleich mit dem "Classic", "51" und "12 YO"); Frucht; dunkle Früchte ergänzen sich gut zur Note des "Classic"; helle Bananenbonbons

Geschmack: lecker, süffig, dunkle Frucht

Abgang: dunkle Frucht, bitter, nicht so lang

Kommentar: ganz lecker, das Finish ergänzt den Charakter vom "Classic" ganz gut - aber Abgang nicht schön

Kommentar: Man riecht sofort den typischen Slyrs Charakter. Der Whisky ist gut, aber im PLV zu teuer. Dennoch das Sherry Fass für das Finish war wohl bis zu 50 Jahre alt, dass muss bezahlt werden. Wir hatten ein Tasting Thema "Rund um die Welt" und der Slyrs war am Schluss der Gewinner.
