Pussers Rum Gunpowder Proof is made from molasses and matures for at least three years in charred ex-bourbon barrels. To ensure that the gunpowder on sailing ships remained functional even in the event of mishaps, the alcohol content in the rum was tested by adding a little water and gunpowder. If the mixture could still be ignited, it was called proof. According to the manufacturer, the recipe for the Blend was taken from the list of ingredients that was also used for the Royal Navy's last ration of rum.

Aroma: Scharfe Melassenoten mit Anklängen von Sirup, Toffee, Honig und Vanille. Es folgen Facetten von Eiche, Zimt, Muskatnuss und Ingwer.
Geschmack: Vollmundig mit kräftigen, süßen und würzigen Anklängen.
Abgang: Langer Abgang und trotz seiner Stärke weich und sanft.
