Product description
This cask strength 16-year-old single malt from the Miltonduff distillery was bottled by A.D. Rattray in the Cask Collection series. Only individual casks are used in this series, which usually only yield a few bottles. All of these whiskies are not chill-filtered and are colourless. The whisky is matured entirely in a bourbon barrel, which gives it malty and floral notes. The now independent bottler was originally founded as a trading company by Andrew Dewar Rattray. His descendant Tim Morrison developed the company further and bottles special single malts and casks. A.D. Rattray also has a portfolio of its own brands.

The Distillery: Miltonduff
Andrew Peary and Robert Bain founded Miltonduff distillery in 1824. The distillery had previously operated illicitly on the site since the turning of the century, but following the passing of the Exercise Act, Peary and Bain established the distillery as a legitimate business operation. After debuting to a successful start in 1866, the distillery was purchased by William Stuart. In 1895 Thomas Yool & Company became part owners of the site, and a few years later Yool went on to completely control the distillery.
