Product description
Campbeltown, known as the whisky capital in the 19th century with over 30 distilleries, looks back on an eventful past as a former centre of whisky production and still enjoys a global reputation today. Springbank is one of three distilleries in Campbeltown that are still active, preserving the heritage of the former Victorian whisky capital of the world and producing unique single malts using traditional production methods. The Longrow Red matured for four years in bourbon casks and was then aged for three years in French Pinot Noir red wine casks. The malt for the heavily peated single malt is kilned over peat fires for 48 hours. This is twice as long as is usual for Springbank bottlings.
