Product description
Malt from German barley was mashed and fermented for the J.B.G. Münsterländer. The raw spirit was distilled from this malted barley mash in 2014. The raw spirit was distilled a second time in three stages on a fine still before it was allowed to mature in an ex-Sherry Pedro Ximenez butt.
The barrels in which the Münsterland single malt whisky is stored are kept on the farm in the distillery's old grain store. Between the almost 200-year-old walls of the building, the whisky is hardly exposed to any temperature fluctuations and can mature in peace. The whisky is bottled at natural cask strength and without the addition of colour.

Aroma: 
Intensiver Duft nach Vanille, getrocknete Früchte und etwas Zimt, ganz typische Aromen, die man von einem Sherry-Whisky erwartet
Geschmack:
im Geschmack setzt sich das Aroma entsprechend fort, karamellige Süße, gepaart mit Mandeln und Rosinen, getrocknete Früchte, leichte Süßweintannine von PX-Fass, schön aufeinander abgestimmt, alles harmonisch
Abgang: 
langanhaltend, etwas malzig, schokoladig
Kommentar: typischer PX-Sherrywhisky in Fassstärke, ohne vorherige Lagerung in Ex-Bourbon Fässern. Der Whisky zeigt alles, was ein Pedro Ximenez Fass an Aromen hergibt, eine "Sherrybombe", nicht übermäßig süß und sehr rund, trotz nur 8-jähriger Lagerung. Zum Trinken nach meiner Meinung unbedingt verdünnen auf ca. 50 Vol.%, trotzdem lädt der Whisky auch hier noch zum weiterverdünnen mit Wasser ein, was weitere Nuancen nach vorne bringt.
