For Highland Park's Travel Retail range, the whiskies were inspired by various wild animals that were of great importance to the Vikings. The eagle symbolised wisdom and knowledge. According to ancient legends, its wings generated the winds that swept over the earth. The Single Malt matured for 16 years in sherry casks.

Aroma: Ziemlich smooth, kaum Rauch, ziemlich fruchtig nach Erdbeeren und Trockenfrüchten riechend, aber auch etwas malzig, herb, insgesamt sehr harmonisch und gefällig.
Geschmack: Ziemlich herber Eindruck im Mund, Waldkräuter, Haselnüsse, aber auch eine Spur Süße, dann zeigt sich die Reifung von 16 Jahren deutlich in einer nicht zu geringen Eichenwürze.
Abgang: Etwas Kräuter und Eichenwürze bleiben durchaus haften, aber nicht allzu lange.
Kommentar: Schöne Krönung dieser Spezialserie.

Kommentar: Lecker, meiner Meinung nach aber etwas zu teuer. Wunderschöne Flasche zum verschenken - dazu kann man aber getrost zum 12 Jährigen greifen, den habe ich auch schnon probiert - ist fast genauso gut und deutlich preiswerter.
