Only selected casks are used for the Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition. This special Single Malt was created by Master Distiller Brian Kinsman himself. The whisky was first matured in traditional oak casks and finished in fine sherry casks.

The Distillery: Glenfiddich

Glenfiddich is Scotland's best-known and most successful distillery. It is located in the heart of Speyside, in Dufftown to be precise. Also known as "The Giant", it has an impressive annual production capacity of 21 million litres. No other Single Malt is as popular worldwide. Glenfiddich Whiskies are usually matured in small Ex-Bourbon casks made from mild American white oak. Kommentar: Milder, solider und eher unkomplizierter Sommerwhisky. Keine Nuance sticht wirklich heraus, weswegen er sehr ausgewogen daher kommt. Ich mag den Glenfiddich Charakter ganz gerne, finde aber alle Abfüllungen mit 40% ein wenig zu zahm und wässrig. Die 43% stehen diesem Malt daher sehr gut. Schmeckt nicht schlecht, allerdings gibt es in dieser Preisklasse auch deutlich bessere Whiskys.

Kommentar: Meiner Ansicht nach ein überraschend komplexer Whisky für den Preis. Ist perfekt zum Genießen nach einem anstrengendem Arbeitstag und wie auch Herr Lüning im Video sagte, definitiv als Geschenk nicht verkehrt, da kann man meiner Meinung nach kaum was falsch machen.
