Product description
This 12-year-old Glenfarclas single malt whisky is the first in the Highland distillery's new The Trinity Vintage Series. It is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks that have been resting for a long time in the old Glenfarclas cask cellar and is bottled neither chill-filtered nor coloured. Glenfarclas means valley of the green grassland, which is due to the idyllic location of the traditional distillery. The Trinity Vintage Series combines the precious sherry casks from the Dunnage Warehouse and is a tribute to the traditional distilling skills of Glenfarclas.

Only a few distilleries in Scotland are still private owned. The Speyside distillery Glenfarclas is one of them. Maybe it’s the best known among them and maybe it’s one of the most successful family owned distilleries in Scotland ever. But for sure the Grants, owners of Glenfarclas, are very proud of the private status as their slogan “The Spirit of Independence” shows. Six generations of Grants have shaped Glenfarclas, from 1865 until today. This guaranteed a constancy of quality and foresight that a durable product as Whisky needs. Geschmack: beim ersten Schlückchen eine Schärfe auf der Zunge wie von Ingwer, dann kommt eine würzige Süße mit Eiche und Sherry.

Abgang: würzig, etwas Süße und Bitterkeit, trocken

Kommentar: Ein kräftiger, würziger Sherry Whisky, für mich nicht typisch für Glenfarclas aber nicht uninteressant.
