"Scotland's Little Gem" presents the Edradour 12 Year Old, which was matured in first fill Madeira hogsheads. The special thing about this whisky is that it was distilled and bottled on 29 February. This single malt Scotch from the leap year is both unique and complex. The small batch is composed from ten Portuguese fortified wine casks. With an increased drinking strength of 48.2% vol. and without chill filtration, this whisky unfolds its full flavours.

Near the Edradour distillery lie the ruins of the Lindores Ruins. This is the birthplace of Aquavite (water of life) that later became the Whisky we know. Edradour is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland.

Kommentar: In der Nase dominieren Nüsse in Sahne. Im Geschmack kommen viele Einflüße vom Fass von Herb bis Würze. Frucht ist eher im Hintergrund, im Abgang adstringierend. Spannende Abfüllung, welche ich so noch nicht hatte.
