Product description
The Craigellachie distillery still distils and condenses its whisky in traditional copper worm tubs. They also put a lot of emphasis on quality when it comes to the barley. This original bottling was stored for over 19 years in former Bourbon casks and was post-matured to 50% in first-fill sherry casks and to 50% in first-fill Bourbon casks.

The Distillery: Craigellachie
In the heart of the Speyside near the little town of Craigellachie/Banffshire lies a distillery that was founded in 1891 at the peak of the Whisky boom and survived until today. Craigellachie Distillery is situated on a hill and overlooks the town.The difficult Gaelic name means “Rocky Hill” and is pronounced Krai-GELLacky.

Goldbraune Farbe, schöne Schlieren am Glasrand.
Nach 2 Minuten im Glas breitet sich ein sehr angenehmes Arma im unmittelbaren Umfeld aus: intensive Holznoten, ganz leicht Vanille.
Im Mund dann eher etwas würzig. Lorbeeren, Nelken, Heu, Holz. Aber doch auch Lakritze, Sägespäne.
Im Abgang bleibt die Würze, mittellang.
Ein sehr schöner Malt, der als Ergänzung zu dem 13- und 17-jährigen, aber vor allem zu dem überragenden 23-jährigen gut dazu passt...

Kommentar: Sehr Ähnlich dem 17´er, aber deutlich teurer. Wenn das nicht stört eine schöne Ergänzung zur Serie :-)
