At the end of the 19th century, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor was instrumental in creating the guideline that made 'Bottled in Bond' an American quality designation for whiskeys. This Kentucky Straight Rye was created from rye and malted barley and matured for at least four years in fresh American oak barrels. It is bottled at 50% vol. which corresponds to 100 proof. Proof is an old unit of measurement used to determine the alcohol content of drinks, especially whiskey. In England, an alcohol content of 57% corresponds to 100 proof, while in the USA 100 proof corresponds to an alcohol content of 50%.

Geschmack: Fruchtig und leicht pfeffrig-würzig
Abgang: Anhaltend; Feigen-fruchtig und Puderzucker

Im Aroma doch recht schwach ausgeprägt.
Die angeblich vorhandene "getrocknete Feige" muss da schon sehr ausgetrocknet sein ...
Aber das Aroma ist schon etwas dunkler, als beim Bourbon.
Erst im Abgang zeigt sich die Feige dann doch noch, in Verbindung mit einer lang anhaltenden Puderzucker-Note.
Insgesamt aber einfach zu teuer.
