Aroma: In der Nase fruchtig, schwer, saftig, aus dem Hintergrund frisch. Karamell- und Vanilletöne.
Geschmack: Wirkt beim ersten Schluck eher leer, wenig fruchtig. In Kombination mit der Nase im Glas kann die Frucht- und Karamellnote wieder etwas verstärkt werden. Geschmacklich dominiert klar das Fass.
Abgang: Mittellang bis lang mit einer leichten, schnell abklingenden Würzigkeit und anhaltendes Fass.
Kommentar:
Nicht schlecht, aber für 18Jahre eher enttäuschend.

Aroma: Er ist deutlich tiefer und voluminöser als der 12-Jährige, die Früchte sind dunkler, eher Erdbeeren und fast schon Pflaumen, die Äpfel und Birnen sind hintergründiger; dann richtig süss riechend nach Vanille und Caramel. Zudem etwas floral.
Geschmack: Sehr rund, sehr weich, nebst einer ordentlichen Süsse auch eine deutliche Malzigkeit; dann Kaffee und bittere Schokoladennoten, da spürt man das Alter aber wirklich.
Abgang: im Abgang eine massive Eichenwürze, die richtig lange anhält.

Abgang: lang, leichte Schärfe und Bitterkeit (
Kommentar: Aus meiner Sicht ein großer Gewinn im Vergleich zum 15-jährigen, was sich lange preislich gar nicht abgebildet hatte. Heute leider alle Cardhu deutlich im Preis angezogen, trotzdem immer noch ein Whisky mit einem akzeptablen PLV. Ich würde immer zum 18er greifen, danach zum 12er, der 15er überzeugt mich leider nicht.
