Product description
The 8-year-old Buck Bourbon is produced using the traditional Sour Mash process in Kentucky. In this process, the distillation residues are collected and added to the mash again in the next batch before fermentation. This changes the pH value of the mash and the mixture becomes more acidic. This allows the yeast to work optimally and release particularly many aromas. The eight-year maturation in fresh oak barrels also ensures a mild, aromatic character.

Kommentar: Der Buck Bourbon ist straight! Habe nach einer 3/4 Flasche mein Badezimmer gefliest, ist gut geworden!

Kommentar: Wer einen grasigen, Nadelholzigen ( Roggenlastigen?) Bourbon mag, sollte hier zugreifen. Für meinen Geschmack ist dieser Whiskey nicht geeignet. Nach dem öffnen und tasten dachte ich schon an einen schlechten Korken. Bei Freunden die ihn ebenfalls im Barfach zu stehen haben, nochmals versucht und festgestellt, der schmeckt wirklich so "Kernseifig" (Roggen). nicht falsch verstehen, es ist ein guter US Whiskey, aber nicht meiner. Die mashbill habe ich nicht herausbekommen. Vergleichbar mit Basil Hayden`s (Jim Beam) der ebenfalls nicht zu meinen Favoriten gehört, aber das gleiche Geschmack & Aromenprofil aufzeigt. Der Preis ist ein wenig "übertrieben". Fazit.: Wer Basil Hayden und roggenlastige Bourbon Whiskey`s mag dürfte hier Freude haben. Nachtrag: Mittlerweile komme ich gut mit Rye zurecht, aber der Buck ist wirklich nicht mein Liebling. Ich schmecke immer noch Kernseife, und das nicht zu Knapp.
