Basil Hayden's belongs to the Jim Beam Small Batch Bourbon Whiskies, for which only barrels of high quality are selected. The Master Distiller of the same name, Basil Hayden, distilled his first Bourbon as early as 1796. This was not common for the time. He added rye to the traditional corn mash. The first Basil Hayden's was born. This Bourbon still uses a higher percentage of rye than normal.

Kommentar: Wertes Unternehmen Jim Beam! Ihr habt ja eigentlich ganz nette Dinge im Sortiment. Erinnert sei hier an: Bookers, Bakers, Knob Creek, Old Grand Dad (BiB und 114) und und und....sogar euer Double Oak und der Rye sind eine gute und schmackhafte Sache. Aber was macht ihr mit dem Basil H.?
Vorschlag zur Güte: gebt dem bitte mehr ABV !!! Unterste Verhandlungsbasis 47%. Noch besser 50% oder sogar Barrel proof. Ich denke dann wäre der ein absolutes Brett. So reichts nur für 3 Sternchen

Kommentar: als ich ihn kaufte hab ich ihn kurz probiert ... und gehasst. 3 Monate später hab ich ihn nochmal aus dem Schrank geholt und oh Wunder ... von Sip zu Sip wurde ich mehr Fan. Das verwundert ...
