Product description
The Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask Release is made from unpeated malt. The unpeated distillate is aged for five and a half years in 22 bourbon casks before a two and a half year finish in Sauternes wine casks. Sauternes is a wine-growing region located in the Garonne river valley. The outstanding wines are known for a sweet white wine of the same name. The intensive maturation process also gives the Single Malt sweet notes, which harmonise perfectly with vanilla and a mild oak spice. The Ardnamurchan is bottled at a higher alcohol strength and without the addition of colour. The Highland distillery does not use chill filtering at all. The beautifully designed bottle is made from 54% recycled glass and features a QR code which, when scanned with a smartphone, reveals further details about the bottling on the distillery's website.

Aroma: Akzente von Aprikosenmarmelade verbinden sich mit Noten von Mandelblättchen, Marzipan und Brioche. Es folgen Nuancen von getrockneten Steinfrüchten.
Geschmack: Leicht würzige Anklänge von Kernbrot und Aromen von grüner Pfeffersoße eingebettet in Facetten von Aprikose und Heidehonig (herzhafter als es das Aroma an der Nase zunächst vermuten lässt).
Abgang: Wunderbar ausgewogen mit trockenem Abschluss und weniger süß als das Bouquet.
