Aroma: Notes of burnt citrus peel, sea salt and campfire combine with hints of nectarine syrup, lime and marmalade. Towards the end, accents of hay bale, coal cellar and crude oil take over.
Taste: Puffed rice, homemade rice pudding and white chocolate merge into facets of bright lemon and lime with hints of cucumber. Cream and Viennetta ice cream meet hazelnut and chocolate notes towards the end. Burning heather and smoked chocolates at the end.

Product description
Maclean's Nose comes from the Argyll peninsula opposite the Isle of Mull and is created by the Ardnamurchan Distillery. The label is made from the draff that is left over from the barley after production and is usually fed to cattle and farm animals. The bottling was developed in honour of 'Chief Nose' Charles Maclean in order to convince his fine nose for Scotch whisky, which the distillery has certainly succeeded in doing with Maclean's Nose. A high malt content (70%) combined with a high proportion of former sherry casks makes the blend a fruity and pleasantly fine-spicy flavour experience.

Kommentar: Ich muss sagen ich werde nicht so warm mit diesem Whisky. Vielleicht liegt das an den hohen Vorschussloorbeeren von den OSWAs, nach diesen habe ich mir hier etwas mehr erhofft. Der Whisky ist auf jeden Fall gut und für den Preis macht man nichts falsch, aber überragend ist er meiner Meinung nach nicht. Dafür ist er mir ein bisschen zu herb. Persöhnlich kann ich noch sagen, dass mir die Noten nicht so gefallen und die Art des Rauchs nicht zusagt, aber ich finde ihn jetzt auch nicht wiederlich. Vielleicht entwickelt er sich ja noch, aber aktuell ist es ein: Ok für den Preis...

Es lohnt sich ihn etwas länger im Mund zu behalten. Dann kann man den wirklich vollen Geschmack und den anschließenden Abgang sehr genießen. Mein erster Blend hat sich definitiv gelohnt
