This Aberfeldy belongs to the Exceptional Cask Series, for which Malt Master Stephanie Macleod selects exceptional casks. After maturing in refill casks and sherry casks, the malt was finished in oloroso sherry casks for up to 3 years. After a total of 19 years, a complex malt with intense sherry notes has emerged.

Aroma: Unmengen an Sherry: Gekochte oder getrocknete Früchte (z. B. rote Früchte wie Äpfel, Erd-und Himbeeren, Cranberrys), Schokolinsen Mandeln, Hasselnüße und die markante Aberfeldy-Note (Honig).

Geschmack: Weich, dominant fruchtig und süffig: Sherry-Wellen mit Vollmilchschokolade, wieder rote Früchte (die ganze Palette) und zarte Eiche.

Abgang: Lang und intensiv: Jetzt dunkle Schokolade mit Krokant, Kakao oder Hasselnuß (vielleicht dunkle Nuß-Nougat-Creme). Süß marmeladig und honigweich zum Schluss.

Kommentar: Zweitbester Aberfeldy den ich bis dahin genossen habe! Nur die Sonderedition 18 Jahre Pauillac Finish war noch besser im Geschmack! Das Kernsortiment von Aberfeldy ist so naja Mittelmaß, aber die Sonderabfüllungen mit hohem Alter und verschiedenen Nachreifungen sind meistens der absolute Knaller!!
