Taste description:
Aroma:
Oak-infused, perfumed notes of fruit including poached pears, caramelised apples and orange peel. Additional accents of honeycomb and roasted hazelnut continue to develop along with the uplifting flavour of freshly roasted coffee beans. The forest spices are brought to the fore by the elegant and measured influence of the particularly fine-grained French oak, adding nuanced characteristics that emphasise the pot still spices and floral grain whiskies in this complex and aged combination.
Flavour:
Initially herbal, with notes of fresh peppermint and sage mingling amongst juicy orchard fruits and tangy orange. The subtle tannins of the oak complement the honeycomb dipped in chocolate and the sweet vanilla adds to the lush, silky texture. The noble wood spices continue to develop and add even more complexity.
Finish: Long lasting, with fruit and spices from the natural cask staves, hints of toasted wood and a harmonious balance between Irish whiskey and French oak.

Product description

Product description
Midleton Forêt deTronçais is an exceptional small batch bottling that represents the pinnacle of Irish whiskey combined with French oak. The traditional Irish company Midleton relies on close cooperation with Taransaud cooperage, a French cask manufacturer that has been active since 1600. The staves for the exclusive barrels are air-dried for five years. The wood used for the staves comes from the Forêt de Tronçais, a forest that was used for historic shipbuilding during the Renaissance due to its excellent quality. The oaks from this forest are specially protected and may only be used under the strictest conditions. Single grain and single pot still whiskeys from the years between 1980 and 2000 were matured in American oak casks and married for a particularly long finish of 3 years in French luxury oak casks. The massive yet elegant outer packaging was also made from the solid oak wood of the Forêt deTronçais.
