Product description

William Larue Weller was the first to distil Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey with wheat instead of rye. Even today, only a few bourbon whiskeys are still produced with wheat.

Weller's bottlings are released by the Buffalo Trace distillery. At 12 years old, the wheated bourbon matured for longer than usual.

Kommentar: 150 Euro für einen 12 jährigen Wheater? Achja, ist ja Buffalo Trace / Weller! Und ja, er ist angenehm. Die 12 Jahre tun ihm im Aroma, im Geschmack und Abgang gut. Süße ist hier ein großes Thema. Dennoch kann man nicht umhin, ihm eine gewisse alkoholische Schärfe einzugestehen. der Weizen deckt Alkohol eben nicht so gut wie Roggen. Daher bin ich (obwohl ich Wheater mag) irgendwie froh nicht einen Full Proof für irres Geld haben zu müssen. Mir reichen die 45 Umdrehungen völlig. Er bekommt für eine schöne Nase, mit Eiche, Karamel und Süße, einen leicht alkoholischen , dennoch süßlichen Vanilligen Geschmack mit ordentlich Honig und einen soliden Abgang glatte 3 Sterne. Vier würde er bekommen wenn er unter 80 Euro wäre. (träumen darf man ja wohl noch).
