The Tomatin Barolo belongs to the Italian Collection. All bottlings of the limited series were distilled on 6 December 2010 and bottled in June 2023 without chill filtering or the addition of colour. Aged for 10 years in traditional Scotch whisky oak casks and then refined for a further two years in Barolo wine casks from Italy, this Single Malt Scotch Whisky was created, combining the art of Scottish distilling with tasteful facets from Italy. Barolo is a dry wine from northern Italy that is known worldwide for its exclusivity and its complex, high-quality Taste.

Tomatin has been a rising star among the Scottish distilleries since the beginning of the millennium. The Highland distillery was the biggest Scottish distillery in the 1970, but the quality of the Whisky wasn’t high regarded. Ups and downs followed and after been new positioned from 2000 onwards Tomatin grew to be one of the most reputable Scottish Whisky brands worldwide.

Aroma: Da ich ein Weihnachtsmarktgänger bin, bin ich mir ziemlich sicher, dass ich Glühwein und dunkler Schokolade gerochen habe.
Geschmack: Cranberrys und ein wenig, ein Hauch von frischen Zitrusfrüchten und Grapefruit.
Abgang: Leichte rauhe Note und gezuckerte Mandeln.
Kommentar: Auf diesen Whisky war ich auch sehr gespannt. Enttäuscht wurde ich von Tomatin nur selten. Leisder hatten wir in Schottland bei unserem Trip dieses Jahr, nicht die Möglichkeit einer Besichtigung. Man bot uns aber eine Privatverkostigung einer Auswahl von 3 Whiskys an. Bei Tomatin erlebt man sehr selten einen Reinfall.

Geschmack: Noten von gewürztem Met mit Preiselbeeren und mit frischen Zitrusfruchtaromen die an Grapefruit erinnern.
