The Swiss distillery from which the Seven Seals whiskies originate developed a special process for the production of their creations. True to the motto 'It's not the time that counts, but the Taste', they reduced the maturation time without further ado in order to avert the ongoing cask shortage. With the help of this process, a Single Malt Spirit is supposed to have as good an aroma as other 15- to 18-year-old whiskies after only three years. Exactly how this is done is a secret procedure. This smoky bottling was finished in peated port wine casks.

Aroma: Süß, kaltes Lagerfeuer (nur leicht phenolisch); feine Kräuter ...
Geschmack: Weich - ölig; milde Rauchigkeit, die zwar deutlich, aber kaum phenolisch ist.
Am Ende meldet sich eine leichte Zitrusfruchtigkeit.
Abgang: Anhaltend (durch die Rauchigkeit); süß und mild rauchig.
Keinerlei bittere Eichen-Noten.
Kommentar:
Keine sonderliche Komplexität, aber aus meiner Sicht eine sehr angenehme Rauchigkeit, und gute Ausgewogenheit, die überwiegend süß und mild auftritt.

Geschmack: weich, sehr rund zwischen rauchig und Honig, wieder ein wenig Frucht
Abgang: torf/rauch; lang und angenehm.
Kommentar: eine meiner Entdeckungen auf der letzten Whisky-Fair, einfach lecker!
