Port Charlotte has been presenting itself in a new design since 2018. The barley for the 2013 bottling of Islay Barley comes from seven selected farms on the island. Three quarters of the bottling matured in ex-bourbon casks, the remaining quarter in first-fill French red wine casks.

Kommentar: In der Nase doch recht rauchig, mit leichten Frucht und See Noten. Im Geschmack ebenfalls stark rauchig, mit leichten Kräuter und Nuss Anklängen. Frucht und Süße nur sehr schwach wahrnehmbar. Im Abgang dann immer noch Rauch mit Eiche und Gewürzen. Insgesamt aber nicht ganz mein Fall, würde den 10-jährigen bevorzugen.

€dit: Habe ihn nochmal probiert und gefällt mir nun doch besser, nehme sowohl in der Nase als auch im Geschmack jetzt starke Räucheraromen wahr.
