Product description
Maker's Mark 46 is produced according to a new maturation process. The number of the first test cask used for this was 46, which is how the whisky got its name. The makers experimented with cask maturation: the whisky is post-matured in casks with infrared-toasted French oak staves and thus develops a distinctive Taste.

Makers Mark is on the rise and needs to increase its production capacity. But they don't want to change anything to the production process. So they just multiply their existing production equipment. They already did this around the turn of the millennium with the second still and more fermenters. In 2015 they install a third similar still and even more fermenters of the same kind. read more

Aroma: typische Bourbon-Sweet mit ordentlich Oak und einer angenehmen Bitterkeit. Etwas Caramel und der für Bourbon typische Klebstofftouch lassen sich auch finden

Geschmack: Sweet Pepper und Oak dazu etwas Pear

Abgang: würzig, trocken und herb. Durchaus lang mit Oak

Kommentar: ein guter Bourbon (sagt jemand, der kein Bourbon-Fan ist)

Geschmack: Eine Vanille und Karamell-Bombe

Abgang: Lang und warm

Kommentar: Für mich einer besten Bourbon den ich getrunken habe. 47% ist zwar nicht gerade wenig. Ich bin ja eh mehr ein Fan der amerikanischen Whiskeys, weil die keine Geschmacksverstärker verwenden. Und das ist eine absolute Kunst

Kommentar: Ein meiner Meinung nach sehr ausgeglichener Boubon ohne Schärfe, welcher zum steten Trinkgenuss einlädt und bei hohem Trinkfluss ein außergewöhnlich gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis vorweisen kann. Mittellanger Abgang, gutes Geschmacksvolumen. Mittelmäßig komplex.

Kommentar: Anfangs ein wenig enttäuscht bin ich mittlerweile ein Freund des 46er. Er legt noch mal eine Schippe auf den normalen red seal drauf, und die französische Eiche macht ihn etwas herber und "vornehmer". Dennoch ist er typisch Makers Mark. Ein wirklich netter Tropfen
