Black Bottle Island Smoke belongs to the brand's 'Alchemy Series'. Just as different chemical liquids were mixed together in alchemy, a blended malt from 1984 was used in part for this blended Scotch whisky.

Aroma: Der Island-Rauch ist unverkennbar von Anbeginn an da, auch zusammen mit einer leicht salzig anmutenden Island-Meeresbrise; dann aber ist er auch ausgesprochen fruchtig und süss; fruchtig will heissen Erdbeeren und Himbeeren; süss will heissen etwas Vanille und Caramel.
Geschmack: Typischer Island-Lagerfeuer-Rauch im Mund, gepaart mit einer harmonisch eingebundenen Malzigkeit und etwas Honigsüsse, wie bei Experiment #1 auch hier die ideale Alkoholstärke.
Abgang: Eine ganz milde Würze begleitet den Abgang, aber nicht allzu intensiv, also nicht aufdringlich.
Kommentar: Schönes, komplexes Island-Experiment.

Aroma: Anfangs etwas verhalten, Rauch und maritime Anklänge dominieren. Dahinter aber dann auch süßliche Vanille und etwas was ich am Besten als Anis oder Eukalyptus beschreiben würde.
Geschmack: Honigsüß, fast cremig-ölig wie ein Likör. Eine pfeffrige Schärfe und etwas Eichenwürze.
Abgang: Verklingt mittellang, süß und salzig zugleich. Wieder eine Portion würzige Eiche.
Kommentar: angenehmer Alltagstropfen für kalte Winterabende. Für den aufgerufenen Preis eine schöne Sache. Kann auch nen Tropfen Wasser vertragen, muss aber nicht.
Geschmack: Honigsüß, fast cremig-ölig wie ein Likör. Eine pfeffrige Schärfe und etwas Eichenwürze.
Abgang: Verklingt mittellang, süß und salzig zugleich. Wieder eine Portion würzige Eiche.
