This Alt-A-Bhainne was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Andrew Symington founded his company at the end of the 1980s and has always maintained good contact with the distilleries. Today, he can call a warehouse of over 10,000 casks his own.
This bottling belongs to Signatory's Cask Strength Collection, in which the whiskies were bottled directly at cask strength. They are especially recommended for advanced connoisseurs. All bottles bear precise information about the distillation and bottling dates as well as the casks.

Aroma: Sehr komplex, vielschichtig, rund, harmonisch; auch wenn er so dunkel aussieht, ist er keineswegs mit Sherry überladen; man hat dunkle Rotwein-Noten, Butterkekse, Pflaumen, Rosinen, und ein süßer Waldhonig.
Geschmack: Im Mund kommt ein sehr süßer, aber dunkler Eindruck, am besten ausgedrückt als stark gesüßte Brombeermarmelade; er hat eine anständige Eichenwürze, aber nicht zu massiv, was ja bei einem 22-jährigen Whisky durchaus möglich wäre; für wie dunkel und wie alt er ist, ist er ausgesprochen leicht im Mund.
Abgang: Der Abgang ist durchaus würzig, aber die Fruchtnote bleibt auch erhalten.
Kommentar: Ein edles Meisterstück, das den hohen Preis absolut wert ist.
