Variety Single malt whisky
Aroma Overall, a gentle and mild note with hints of orange cream that transition to orange biscuit with a hint of vanilla. Underneath, a waxy scent of almond flakes and a light "green" note reminiscent of sugar snap peas or snow peas.
Taste Creamy texture with sweet and tart accents and a hint of Seville orange peel. A peppery flavour takes over without overpowering the fruity levels.
Finish Long, warming and spicy, with a cooling aftertaste. Still flavourful even with a splash of water.

Product description
This Singleton comes from the Glen Ord distillery and was bottled for the 2024 Special Releases. Under the motto 'what if', this year's bottlings from the Spirited Exchange Second Edition represent whisky craftsmanship combined with a high degree of creativity. Different flavours are presented through different and special cask compositions. The special releases guide tasters, whisky fans and Single Malt Whisky collectors through rare bottlings, rich flavour profiles and their own imagination. This Glen Ord has been matured for 14 years in three different ways. Ex-Bourbon, renewed ex-wine and refill casks were used, with the latter being transferred after 10 years for further maturation in a mixture of experimental European oak casks and unique oak from the Pyrenees. The rich and full-bodied whisky flavour experience was bottled at natural cask strength. The elaborately designed outer packaging makes the limited special bottlings ideal as a collector's item or gift.

Aroma: Insgesamt sanfte und milde Note mit Noten von Orangencreme, die zu Orangenbiskuit mit einem Hauch Vanille übergehen. Darunter ein wachsiger Duft von Mandelblättchen und eine leichte „grüne“ Note, die an Zuckerschoten oder Kaiserschoten erinnern.

Geschmack: Cremige Textur mit süßen und säuerlichen Akzenten und einem Hauch von Sevilla-Orangenschale. Eine pfeffrige Würze übernimmt, ohne dabei die fruchtigen Ebenen zu überlagern.

Abgang: Lang, wärmend und würzig, mit einem kühlenden Nachgeschmack. Auch mit einem Spritzer Wasser noch würzig.

Aroma: Zuerst spürt man eine schöne Note von Buttercremetorte und dann wird er fruchtiger, und zwar nicht unbedingt die klassischen Früchte, die man bei Verkostungen immer nennt, sondern eher so Stachelbeeren, Johannisbeeren, und etwas hingehend zu hellen Zitrusfrüchten; im Hintergrund ein Hauch von Vanille.

Geschmack: Auch im Mund habe ich zuerst ein Hauch von Buttercremetorte, aber dann schlägt die Stachelbeere voll zu; zudem eine leichte Malzigkeit und ein Potpourri von Kräutern.

Abgang: Im Abgang dann Eiche aufkommend, und ziemlich trocken werdend.

Kommentar: Schön gemacht, kann man durchaus probieren.
