The Maltman A Blend of Caol Ila & North British bottling is, as the name suggests, a combination of Caol Ila single malt and North British single grain whisky. The blended whisky was matured for 22 long years before being bottled at 45.9% vol. without chill-filtering and without the addition of colour. The independent bottler Meadowside Blending is based in Glasgow and fills special single casks from Scotland's renowned distilleries and has already won several awards for its creations.

Aroma: Küstenaromen mit einer Prise Meersalz und einem Hauch von Zitronensorbetbonbons.
Geschmack: Samtige Textur mit Noten von gezuckerten Mandeln, dezentem Rauch und Karamell. Facetten von gerösteten Haferflocken und Marzipan kommen hinzu.
Abgang: Sanft mit gesalzenem Karamell und einer schönen pfeffrigen Wärme.

Kommentar: Man merkt beides, den Caol Ila und auch den North British Grain. Harmonischer Blend im großen und ganzen. In der Nase kommt viel vom Caol Ila 18y Stil durch, die leichte maritime Fruchtigkeit. Gute Würze mit Pfeffer.
Eiche und Rauch findet man im Abgang.
Schöner Blend insgesamt.
