The tenth batch of the heavily peated single malt matured 90% in ex-bourbon barrels and 10% in ex-sherry casks. The cask strength single malt was not chill-filtered and is bottled uncoloured at 57.8% vol.

Glengyle is the third distillery beside Springbank and Glen Scoia that is still active in Campbeltown. "Active again" it should read, since Glengyle has been revived 2004 and is now producing the Kilkerran Single Malt Whisky.

Geschmack: Der Torfrauch ist weich und süß, mit Noten von gerösteten Marshmallows, typischerweise stark getorft, während sich mit der Zeit Noten von Stachelbeeren und Parma-Veilchen entwickeln.
Abgang: Die Süsse verbleibt im Nachklang mit Noten von Orangenfruchtfleisch.

Kommentar: Sensationell! Dreckig, würzig-süß, Werkstatt-Raubtier, fruchtig - alles total verwoben und vielschichtig. Alkohol TOP-eingebunden. Sehr langer Abgang mit fruchtig-stumpfer Pfirsichhaut-Textur. Sofort noch eine gekauft :-)
