This 12-year-old whisky from Glendronach matured in a combination of the finest Spanish sherry casks (Pedro Ximenez/Oloroso). The mild Highland malt is ideal for beginners and comes in beautifully shaped bottles without the addition of colour. It is supplied in attractive outer packaging.

Sherry, fruchtig und leicht suesslich, viele getrocknete Fruechte gepaart mit Karamell und Vanille, wuerzig werdend, spaeter etwas nussig
Geschmack:
Sherry, fruchtig suess mit getrockneten Fruechten, Rosinen, wuerzig nussig, spaeter oelig werdend
Abgang:
Auch hier wieder Sherry gepaart mit wuerziger Eiche, suess nussig, herb werdend, leicht fruchtig

sehr guter 12 jaehriger Standard. Rund und weich. sehr gutes PLV

Kommentar: Immer wieder gut ! Luft und Zeit lassen. Wenn er die 40€ übersteigt gibt es nen halben Stern Abzug. Aber man bekommt ihn immer noch irgendwo für <35€, sodaß man das PLV als sehr gut bewerten kann.

Ich vergleiche den Glendronach 12, Benriach Sherrywood 12, Glenmorangie Lasanta 12
Aroma: Im Vergleich der drei die verhaltenste Nase, ähnelt dabei eher dem Lasanta. Ausgewogen mit Honig und Zitrusfrüchten, Sherryaroma nicht aufdringlich und gut eingebunden. Anders als beim Benriach eher helle als dunkle Früchte. Hier liegt der Glendronach knapp vor dem Benriach.
Geschmack: Voll, cremig und deutlich Sherry. Eher auf der süßen Seite, Holznoten nur dezent. Leichter als der massive Benriach, weniger trocken als der Lasanta. Alkohol allerdings spürbar. Benriach klar vorne.
Abgang: Lang, trockener werdend mit Holznoten. Der weiche Nachklang des Benriach ist unerreicht.
Kommentar: Mich erinnert der Glendronach stark an einen guten Weinbrand, eher trocken und mit spürbarer Alkoholnote. Der Benriach bleibt mein Favorit, er ist ein massiver und fruchtiger Sherrywhisky mit toller dunkler Farbe. Der Glendronach liegt allerdings vor dem Lasanta, der zwar süßer im Antritt ist, aber trocken insgesamt unterkomplex ist. Insgesamt 3,8 Punkte.
