Balvenie

Balvenie distillery

The Scottish malt whisky distillery Balvenie is located on the slopes of the Convals, below the Glenfiddich distillery. It was founded in 1892 by William J. Grant and the name means something like "village of happiness". Throughout its history, Balvenie has never stood still, even though production had to be reduced during the wars. Many distilleries had to close during the Prohibition era, but not Balvenie. Over the years, Balvenie's whisky became increasingly popular and the distillery increased the number of stills from two to four. In 1971, the entire distillery was renovated and the number of stills was increased to a total of nine. Today, the company is still in the hands of William Grant & Sons Ltd. and Balvenie offers a wide range of original bottlings in a uniform design.

Find out more about the history of this distillery and its production features in the distillery tour with Ben Lüning on our YouTube channel.

We have also provided you with two free Glencairn glasses for selected bottlings. Get your Balvenie bundle now!
