For Ballyroe Edition 1.1, the barley is grown on Simon Neville's challenging land and sourced from the distillery. For maturation, 24% of the casks are made of French premium oak, in which French Mouton Rothschild red wine was previously stored. Further, 19% of the whisky was matured in Vin Doux Naturel sherry casks, 21% in new American oak casks and 36% in first-fill bourbon casks.

La distillerie: Waterford

The Waterford Distillery was created in 2015 by converting a former Guinness Brewery in Waterford, in the very south of Ireland. The distillery's founder Mark Reynier was formerly the mastermind behind the rebuilding of Islay Distillery Bruichladdich. Kommentar: Es schmeckt nicht direkt nach Kuchen. Jedoch ist es nicht diese "standard" Süße, sondern eine etwas mildere und langanhaltende Süße, wie man sie beispielsweise von Brownies kennt.

Von meiner Frau ;-)
Wir bekamen überraschend Besuch von meinen Freundinnen.
Bei den Südlichen Damen ist es üblich, einen Johnnie Walker mit Freunden zu trinken.
Mein Mann machte seine Schatztruhe auf und stellte eine Flasche Waterford Ballyroe auf den Tisch.
Was für ein guter Whisky….
So einen jungen guten Malt Whisky haben wir noch nie getrunken…
Nach 3 Stunden gemütlichen Ferien war die Flasche leer.
Besser geht es nicht.
